Triumph Banquet 2016
Our second annual Triumph Banquet was a great success. Our first graduate from our Refuge City Outpatient Program was our guest speaker and touched many hearts as she shared her painful story of being trafficked and her triumphant recovery. Our theme was pink in honor of her. Our mystery box giveaways were a huge success and Peggy Jeremiah’s beautiful necklace that was given as the main prize. RC’s bookkeeper, Johnna Gray knocked everyone socks off when she sang “Come as You Are”.
RAT (Race Against Trafficking) Race 2016
The First annual RAT (Race Against Trafficking) Race was a fun and exciting event. We helped spread awareness about human trafficking and about Refuge City. It was set up as a prayer ride so that each rider stopped at four different locations around the metroplex and prayed.
One of the reasons Texas is number two in the nation for trafficking is the ease at which they transport the kids. There is something called the Trafficking Triangle that runs from Dallas, to San Antonio to Houston. Our goal was to take back those roads for God. We succeeded spreading prayer from Allen, to Sherman, then Decatur and finally Carrollton.
Everyone that participated enjoyed the ride and we believe we made an impact against trafficking through our prayer.
