The average age of entry into the commercial sex industry in the U.S. is between 12 and 14 years old and the average life span of a person in the sex trade is 7 years. Texas is one of the top ten states involved and there are many issues in the rescue of these children. There needs to be better laws and more awareness. But the greatest issue facing law enforcement, Child Protective Services and Judges across the nation is that once the children are found, and rescued, there is nowhere for these children to go to receive healing and restoration of their lives. In the United States there are approximately 300,000 victims and about 600 beds. In Texas there are only two homes for these kids to go to. Many who are found and rescued end up right back on the street, back in prostitution for lack of help.
